Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chiura (Beaten Rice)
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup Cashews
  • 1/4 cup Raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Oil

Instructions

  1. 1Place a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Add the 1 teaspoon of Mustard Oil and let it warm for about 30 seconds.
  2. 2Add the 2 cups of Chiura (Beaten Rice) to the warm oil. Stir constantly and roast for 2 to 3 minutes, until the beaten rice looks slightly puffed and feels crisp to the touch. Remove the roasted beaten rice from the skillet and place it in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  3. 3Return the same 10-inch skillet to medium heat. Add the 1/2 cup of Roasted Chickpeas and the 1/4 cup of Cashews to the skillet.
  4. 4Sauté the chickpeas and cashews for 1 minute, stirring them frequently, until they are lightly toasted and fragrant. Add these to the mixing bowl with the roasted beaten rice.
  5. 5Add the 1/4 cup of Raisins, 1/4 teaspoon of Turmeric Powder, 1/4 teaspoon of Chili Powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of Salt to the mixing bowl.
  6. 6Stir all the ingredients in the bowl together very well, ensuring the spices and raisins are evenly distributed among the beaten rice, chickpeas, and cashews.
  7. 7Serve the Chiura (Beaten Rice) Snack Mix immediately, or store it in an airtight container at room temperature for later enjoyment.
