Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground chicken
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 small Red chili, minced
  • 2 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare the momo filling: In a bowl, combine ground chicken, onion, ginger, garlic, cilantro, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  2. 2Make the momo dough: In a separate bowl, mix flour and water to form a smooth, pliable dough. Knead for 5 minutes.
  3. 3Roll out the dough and cut into small circles. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle and fold to create momo shapes.
  4. 4Steam the momos for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. 5Prepare the tomato achar: Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add fenugreek seeds and red chili. Sauté for a minute.
  6. 6Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and turmeric powder. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and pulpy.
  7. 7Stir in lemon juice and remove from heat.
  8. 8Serve the steamed momos hot with the tomato achar.
