Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Fresh chives, chopped
  • 3/4 cup Plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Milk

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. 4Stir in the shredded cheese and chopped chives.
  5. 5Add the yogurt and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. 6Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick circle.
  7. 7Cut out scones using a round cutter or a knife.
  8. 8Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. 9Brush the tops of the scones with milk.
  10. 10Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
