Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground turkey
  • 0.5 medium Onion
  • 0.5 medium Bell pepper
  • 1 stalk Celery
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1 14.5 oz can Diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2Prepare the vegetables: finely dice the 0.5 medium onion, finely dice the 0.5 medium bell pepper, finely dice the 1 stalk of celery, and mince the 2 cloves of garlic.
  3. 3In a large bowl, combine the 2 lbs of ground turkey, the finely diced 0.5 medium onion, the finely diced 0.5 medium bell pepper, the finely diced 1 stalk of celery, the minced 2 cloves of garlic, the 1 cup of breadcrumbs, the 1 large egg, the 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning, and the 1/4 cup of ketchup. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. 4Shape the mixture into an oval or rectangular loaf and carefully place it into a baking dish.
  5. 5In a separate medium bowl, combine the 1 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes (undrained), the 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, the 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and the 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
  6. 6Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the meatloaf in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the meatloaf reads 165°F (74°C) and the top is lightly browned.
  7. 7Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven. Let the meatloaf rest in the dish for 10 minutes before slicing; this allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist meatloaf. Serve warm.
