Ingredients

  • 4 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • 2 medium Sliced Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Pickled Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Fermented Tea Leaves (Lahpet)
  • 2 tablespoons Fried Garlic Chips
  • 1/4 cup Roasted Peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 3 tablespoons Lime Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fish Sauce (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Tamari (gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Palm Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine the 4 cups shredded cabbage, 2 medium sliced tomatoes, 1/2 cup pickled ginger, 1/4 cup fermented tea leaves (lahpet), 2 tablespoons fried garlic chips, 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, and 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds.
  2. 2In a separate small bowl, whisk together the 3 tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon fish sauce (if using), 2 tablespoons tamari (gluten-free), 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon palm sugar until the 1 teaspoon palm sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. 3Pour the dressing mixture over the ingredients in the large bowl.
  4. 4Toss everything together gently but thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
  5. 5Serve the Burmese Ginger Salad immediately.
