Ingredients

  • 4 links Bratwurst Sausages
  • 2 cups Sauerkraut
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Caraway Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. 1If you are grilling, preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350°F or 175°C). If you are pan-frying, place a 10-inch skillet on the stovetop and add the 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Heat the oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. 2Place the 4 links of bratwurst sausages in the preheated grill or the hot skillet. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, turning them every few minutes, until they are browned all over and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
  3. 3While the bratwurst are cooking, place the 2 cups of sauerkraut in a separate medium saucepan. Heat the sauerkraut over medium heat.
  4. 4Once the sauerkraut is warm, stir in the 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and the 1/2 teaspoon of caraway seeds. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors have melded.
  5. 5To serve, place a portion of the heated sauerkraut onto each plate. Top the sauerkraut with one of the cooked bratwurst sausages.
