Ingredients

  • 1 cup Besan (Chickpea Flour)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Silken Tofu
  • 1/4 cup Onion
  • 1/4 cup Tomato
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil

Instructions

  1. 1In a mixing bowl, whisk together besan, water, and silken tofu until smooth. Ensure no lumps remain.
  2. 2Add chopped onion, tomato, green chili (if using), ginger, cilantro, turmeric powder, red chili powder (if using), and salt to the batter. Mix well.
  3. 3Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
  4. 4Heat a flat griddle or pan over medium heat. Grease it lightly with oil.
  5. 5Pour a ladleful of batter onto the hot griddle and spread it gently into a circle.
  6. 6Drizzle some oil around the edges of the chilla.
  7. 7Cook until the bottom is golden brown and the top is set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. 8Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
