Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Chuck
  • 2 large Potatoes
  • 1/2 head Cabbage
  • 1 cup Green Beans
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 8 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 1 tsp Black Peppercorns

Instructions

  1. 1Place the 2 lbs of Beef Chuck, the 1 piece Onion, 8 cups of Beef Broth, and 1 tsp of Black Peppercorns into a large heavy-bottomed pot.
  2. 2Bring the contents of the pot to a rolling boil over high heat, then immediately reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 1 hour, or until the 2 lbs of Beef Chuck is tender when pierced with a fork.
  3. 3Add the 2 large Potatoes to the pot and continue to simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
  4. 4Add the 1/2 head Cabbage and 1 cup of Green Beans to the pot. Cover and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cabbage and green beans are tender.
  5. 5Stir in the 2 tbsp of Fish Sauce.
  6. 6Serve the Beef Nilaga hot.
