Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Candied Orange Peel
  • 1/4 cup Candied Lemon Peel
  • 2 tbsp Kirsch (Cherry Liqueur)
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine the flour, honey, sugar, candied orange peel, candied lemon peel, kirsch, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix well until a dough forms.
  3. 3Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  4. 4Cut the dough into small rectangular shapes.
  5. 5Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. 6Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. 7While the cookies are baking, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  8. 8Once the cookies are cooled, brush them with the glaze.
