Baked Tempeh Bacem

Ingredients

  • 1 block Tempeh
  • 1/4 cup Palm sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 4 pieces Shallots
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 2 pieces Candlenuts
  • 2 pieces Bay leaves
  • 1 inch Galangal
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2Cut the tempeh into slices about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. 3In a baking dish, combine palm sugar, soy sauce, shallots, garlic, coriander powder, candlenuts, bay leaves, galangal and water.
  4. 4Add the tempeh to the baking dish, ensuring the slices are submerged in the liquid.
  5. 5Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the tempeh has absorbed most of the liquid and is caramelized.
  6. 6Serve warm.
