Ingredients

  • 500 g Dairy-free puff pastry
  • 500 g Ground pork
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Dairy-free milk

Original measure retained: its cup/spoon or fluid-volume standard is unspecified.

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 200°C (about 205°C). Prepare a baking tray for later use.
  2. 2Finely chop the 1 onion. Mince the 2 cloves garlic. Chop the 2 tbsp fresh parsley.
  3. 3In a large bowl, combine the 500 g ground pork, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, the finely chopped 1 onion, the minced 2 cloves garlic, the chopped 2 tbsp fresh parsley, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, and the 1 egg. Mix thoroughly with your hands until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. 4Roll out the 500 g dairy-free puff pastry on a clean, dry surface until it is approximately 0.3 cm (0.3175 cm) thick. Cut the pastry in half lengthwise to create two long strips.
  5. 5Divide the meat mixture evenly between the two pastry halves. Shape each portion into a long, even sausage down the center of each pastry strip. Brush one long edge of each pastry strip with half of the 2 tbsp dairy-free milk. Fold the unbrushed side of the pastry over the meat mixture to meet the brushed edge, enclosing the filling. Press down firmly along the sealed edge to secure.
  6. 6Cut each long roll into individual sausage rolls, approximately 5 cm (5.08 cm) long. Place the sausage rolls on the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops of all the sausage rolls with the remaining 2 tbsp dairy-free milk.
  7. 7Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the internal temperature of the meat reaches 71°C.
  8. 8Let the sausage rolls cool slightly on the baking tray for 5 minutes before serving, as they will be very hot.
