Terms of service — version 2

A versioned copy of the Safe Plated agreement.

Current versionVersion 2 — see the notice period below

Which version applies?

This is version 2 for new accounts and people who expressly accept it. Existing accounts that accepted version 1 receive at least 14 days’ notice before acceptance of this revision is required. The in-app notice shows the date for that account; accepting earlier is optional.

You can read the previous terms (version 1, 4 February 2026), our Privacy Policy and Medical and Allergen Disclaimer.

1. Parties and acceptance

These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and Safe Plated Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202606065Z), a company incorporated in Singapore, for using Safe Plated. The service is for adult consumers and their households. These terms apply to free and paid use.

When creating an account or expressly accepting this revision, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Your acknowledgement of the limits of recipe and ingredient checks does not waive rights or remedies that applicable law protects.

2. Nature of the service

Safe Plated helps you find and adapt recipes, organise meal plans and shopping lists, and share household food information. Content may be generated by AI, supplied by users or obtained from other sources. We do not promise exclusive rights in AI output or that every output is unique.

Safe Plated does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, certify products or kitchens, or operate an emergency response service. Follow advice from your qualified healthcare professionals and your prescribed emergency plan. Contact local emergency services when urgent help is needed.

3. Adult accounts and household profiles

You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to hold an account. An adult may maintain profiles for children and other household members where authorised to provide and use their information. A child profile is not a separate child account.

Keep recorded household restrictions and preferences current. Before sharing, check the intended recipient and the information included. People supporting another household must consider that household's own needs and current instructions.

4. AI and ingredient-check limitations

AI output and imported content can contain mistakes, omissions or outdated information, including ingredients, quantities, measurements, nutrition, timing and costs. Estimates and text-screening results are not laboratory measurements, clinical assessments or product approvals.

A text check can identify recognised information in the text supplied. It cannot establish that a label is complete or current, resolve missing ingredient information, or verify manufacturing, kitchen or preparation cross-contact. No matching terms does not mean that food is safe.

Preferences, including heat level, guide suggestions. A mild label or preference check is not a measured heat rating or a promise that every person will tolerate the dish. Review proposed adaptations before using or sharing them.

5. Using food information responsibly

Read the current physical ingredients and allergen information for every packaged product, including replacements, before preparing food. Check quantities and cooking instructions, and consider preparation and cross-contact conditions. A product used previously may have changed.

Use appropriate professional advice for allergy management and personalised nutrition. Keep prescribed emergency medication and instructions available as advised by your clinician. These practical responsibilities do not transfer our own legal responsibilities to you or make you responsible for every consequence of using the service.

6. Accounts, privacy and security

Keep your account credentials secure and notify support@safeplated.com if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not access another person's private household information, disrupt the service or upload unlawful content.

Provide personal information about other people only where authorised. Our Privacy Policy describes collection, use, service providers, sharing, retention, transfers and rights requests. Sharing a plan or document may disclose the household details it contains; review the content and recipients first. These terms do not promise model-training or retention controls beyond those accurately described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Subscriptions, cancellation and payment

Some features require a paid subscription. Before purchase, the checkout identifies the price, billing interval and applicable charges. Subscription fees are charged in advance monthly or annually, as selected, and recurring subscriptions renew until cancelled.

Open Settings, Subscription, Manage to access billing management. If cancellation is unavailable there, contact support@safeplated.com to request cancellation. Cancelling stops future renewals; the billing service shows the effective date and remaining paid access. Cancellation and deleting an account are different actions. Export any data you wish to keep before requesting deletion.

Fees already paid are non-refundable except where applicable law requires a refund or we expressly agree otherwise. This does not restrict any mandatory cancellation, refund or other consumer remedy. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a subscription price change before it applies to your renewal.

Stripe processes payments under its applicable payment-service terms. Those terms do not remove your consumer rights against Safe Plated.

8. Content ownership and household sharing

We or our licensors retain rights in our software, branding and platform materials. You retain rights you hold in content you upload and must have the rights and permissions needed to provide it. You permit us to process that content as needed to provide the features you choose, subject to the Privacy Policy.

You may use meal plans, recipes, shopping lists and handoff documents for your household and share them with caregivers, family members, teachers or others supporting that household. Normal household sharing does not require separate written permission from us. Review the recipient's needs; sharing does not establish suitability for another person.

Third-party recipes, photographs and other materials remain subject to their owners' rights. Household sharing does not grant unrestricted public republication, resale or commercial exploitation. Contact us about commercial use. We do not promise copyright ownership or exclusivity in every AI-generated item.

9. Service availability and consumer rights

The service and AI features have limitations and may be interrupted or unavailable. We do not guarantee error-free output, uninterrupted operation or a food-safety outcome. This description does not remove obligations, rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or restrict.

Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer protection, statutory remedy, duty of reasonable care or other liability where exclusion or restriction is prohibited. Acknowledging a limitation does not itself mean you have accepted every risk or waived a protected claim.

10. Our responsibility and limits of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

Subject to those protections, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law and any applicable requirement of reasonableness, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses. We do not treat an injury, allergic reaction or death as an excluded category merely by describing it as consequential.

For liabilities that may lawfully be limited, our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or SGD 100. This cap does not apply to the liabilities or mandatory remedies preserved above.

11. Misuse and third-party claims

You are responsible for your own deliberate unlawful misuse of the service and for knowingly supplying content that infringes another person's rights. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may seek reasonably incurred losses or costs that are legally recoverable from you and caused by that conduct.

You do not indemnify us for ordinary household use, an AI mistake, an allergic reaction or other food-related harm merely because you used the service. You are not required to reimburse us for our own negligence, breach of contract or another liability that law does not permit us to transfer to you.

12. Suspension, closure and access to your information

We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to address serious misuse, a security risk, a legal requirement or a material breach of these terms. We will explain the reason and give reasonable notice where practicable and lawful; urgent protective action may be necessary without advance notice.

You may stop using the service, cancel a subscription and request account deletion. Account settings provide billing-management, data-export and account-deletion controls; contact support if a control is unavailable. Retention and deletion follow the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Closure does not remove mandatory refund or other consumer rights. Obligations concerning existing claims, ownership, lawful liability and dispute resolution survive where relevant.

13. Governing law and disputes

Singapore law governs these terms, without depriving a consumer of mandatory rights under any law that applies to them. Contact support@safeplated.com if you have a complaint so we can try to resolve it. This does not prevent timely use of a legal remedy.

Subject to those mandatory rights, disputes arising from these terms are referred to arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre under its applicable rules, with Singapore as the seat and English as the language. Where applicable law gives you a right to use a court, tribunal or other forum that cannot be waived, that right remains available. Nothing requires you to give up a protected consumer remedy.

14. Severability

If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced, it applies only to the extent permitted and the remaining provisions continue where legally possible. This does not authorise an unlawful restriction or remove a mandatory consumer protection.

15. Agreement and related notices

These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Medical and Allergen Disclaimer describe the agreement and related notices for the service. If a disclaimer conflicts with a mandatory right or the protections in these terms, those rights and protections prevail.

16. Changes to these terms

We will communicate material changes by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they are required to take effect for an existing account. The notice will identify the revision and explain when it applies. Merely displaying a notice does not record acceptance of the revised terms.

For this revision, new accounts expressly agree to version 2 at signup or the in-app acceptance step. An existing account that previously accepted version 1 keeps that version during a notice period of at least 14 days from its recorded in-app notice, unless the account holder chooses to accept version 2 earlier. The previous version remains available to read.

After that notice period, we may ask you to expressly accept the revised terms before continuing to use product features. If you do not agree, you can still access account settings to manage cancellation, export or deletion, or contact support. We do not rewrite an earlier acceptance record as acceptance of this revision.
