Ingredients

  • 8 wrappers Popiah Skins
  • 1 block Firm Tofu
  • 2 cups Shredded Jicama
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrot
  • 1 cup Shredded Cucumber
  • 1 cup Bean Sprouts
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tsp Chili Garlic Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Manis)
  • 2 tbsp Crushed Peanuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1Press the tofu to remove excess water, then dice it into small cubes.
  2. 2Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant. Add tofu and stir-fry until lightly golden brown.
  3. 3Add shredded jicama and carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes until slightly softened.
  4. 4In a small bowl, mix together hoisin sauce, chili garlic sauce, and sweet soy sauce.
  5. 5To assemble the popiah, lay a popiah skin flat. Spread a thin layer of the sauce mixture on the skin.
  6. 6Add a spoonful of the tofu and vegetable mixture, along with shredded cucumber and bean sprouts.
  7. 7Fold the sides of the popiah skin inwards, then roll it up tightly.
  8. 8Serve immediately, garnished with crushed peanuts if desired.
